Questions
Is it free?
To start, yes. A new account comes with 21 credits, which is one tape at 480p in any shape, and there is no card to enter. After that, credits come in packs; the pricing page says what they cost.
What happens to my photograph?
It is sent to fal.ai, the AI provider that generates the tape, and to nobody else. Location and camera data are stripped the moment it arrives. It is deleted after 7 days and the finished tape after 30 days, and you can delete either sooner from your account page.
How long does a tape take?
A few minutes. The status page shows the three phases as they happen, and the tape is still there if you close the tab and come back.
Does it look real?
The picture is generated by a model; the tape is built in ffmpeg. Grain, chroma bleed, the head-switch band and the date stamp go on the way a 2003 camcorder put them there, and nothing about the look is asked of the model. Every file is marked as AI-generated in its metadata.
Which shapes and qualities?
4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 at 480p and 720p. The file is the shape you choose, edge to edge in the wide shapes, and a tape costs the same in every shape.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Your account page deletes the account, the photograph, the tapes and the credit history together, immediately. Export first if you want a copy.
Prices are before tax. VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where it applies, at the rate for the country you are in, and the total is shown to you before you pay.
There is no payment form here and there is not one anywhere else either. Checkout is hosted by the payment provider on their own domain, and this application never sees a card number.
Nothing here renews and nothing is a subscription. When you want more tapes you buy another bundle, including a second one the same size.
